Time Domain

Source: Custom Domain
Type: Custom Domain

Overview

The Time Domain focuses on temporal manipulation, time awareness, and understanding chronological events. Clerics of this domain serve agents of Vemnesthis, understanding that time flows in one direction and that interference with temporal flow is dangerous.

Associated Deities

Warning: Time manipulation is dangerous—see Magic System Interactions for consequences of interfering with temporal flow. Excessive use of temporal manipulation may draw the attention of the Scions of Vemnesthis.

You gain domain spells at the cleric levels noted in the Time Domain Spells table. See the Magic/Divine page for how domain spells work.

Domain Features

Clerics who choose the Time Domain gain the following features:

Blessings of Time

At 1st level, you learn one language of your choice. You also gain proficiency in the History skill, and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses it.

Temporal Awareness

Also at 1st level, you gain the ability to sense the flow of time around you. You can add your Intelligence modifier to your initiative rolls.

Channel Divinity: Temporal Stasis

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to briefly manipulate time. As an action, you choose a point within 60 feet of you. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet of that point must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature's speed is halved, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of your next turn.

Sentinel at Time's Door

At 6th level, you gain the ability to impede time's progress. As a reaction when you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you suffers a critical hit or fails a saving throw, you can cause that creature to reroll the saving throw or cause the attacker to reroll the attack.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip.

Master of Time

At 17th level, you gain significant temporal manipulation abilities. You can cast Time Stop once per long rest without expending a spell slot or material components. Additionally, you are immune to effects that would age you or alter your position in time, and you are resistant to the slow spell and similar effects.

Severe Warning: Using temporal manipulation at this level may result in forcible recruitment into the Scions of Vemnesthis if Vemnesthis judges your actions as interference with the temporal flow.
